Our St. Anastasia Catholic School Board
A message from the School Board Chair
On behalf of the St. Anastasia Catholic School Board, I welcome your interest in the work of the School Board.
The School Board is a valuable asset to the school’s development and achievements. We provide support in the following areas: strategic planning; policy development; resource development; institutional advancement; advice and counsel with regard to financial planning, management and reporting; marketing of the school and evaluation of the board’s goals and activities.
While consultative in nature, the School Board also assists the principal and pastor in researching issues and implementing solutions. This work is primarily accomplished though committees, which are comprised of board members and other individuals invited from the community due to their expertise or interest in a committee’s coverage. Currently there are permanent committees (Executive, Mission Enhancement, Planning and Policy, Building and Grounds, Finance, Development, Marketing and Communication, Curriculum, and Technology) as well as ad hoc committees created to facilitate implementation of goals related to strategic planning.
Our membership is diversified throughout the school and parish including the pastor, principal, school parents (ideally no more than one-half of the total membership), alumni parents, parishioners, members of the civic and local business community and area educators. The board is consultative in nature. The members advise the pastor and principal, but do not have the authority to make policy decisions binding for the school program without the approval of the administrative team. The pastor and principal retain responsibility over curriculum, staff/faculty and students.
The School Board looks forward to fulfilling our mission of supporting excellence in education at St. Anastasia Catholic School.
