Dear Second Grade Parents,
I am very happy to be a part of St. Anastasia’s community as your child’s teacher. This school year will be a very special one! I look forward to working with you to prepare your child to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist!
Many school supplies are furnished for the students, but please have your child bring the following items to school:
3 spiral notebooks 8-1/2 x 11 (at least 100 sheets) for each trimester of Journal Writing and Math (your child is welcome to bring a JOURNAL style notebook instead of a spiral bound book for their daily journaling!)
2 large zippered pencil cases for pencils and crayons/markers (boxes or large containers will not fit in the desk)
(NO decorative or toy-like pencils, erasers, or pencil sharpeners)
#2 pencils (please do not get SOFT -- to difficult to write with especially as we embark on CURSIVE -- please DO NOT start cursive with your child as we will work on how to write our letters together!
4 glue sticks
2 large boxes of Kleenex (no pocket size, please)
1 box of Crayola crayons
1 box of Crayola Markers -- fine or broad tip
1 box of colored pencils
3 large packages wipes (Kirkland is the best!)
1 twelve-inch ruler with BOTH inches and centimeters
3 pocket folders – labeled Homework, Spanish, Music -- different colors are best! (Each trimester we will need new folders)It is very important that your child’s supplies and uniform items (sweatshirt, sweatpants, sweater, etc.) be labeled with his/her name. It's amazing how many clothes get turned in to lost and found with no names on them. Also, please label their backpack and lunch box. Please DO NOT have your child bring rolling backpacks due to space and safety regulations.I look forward to a productive and successful school year for your child and to meeting you at Back to School Night in September.Blessings always,
