Fr. Leszek Semik

My name is Fr. Leszek Semik.  I was born July 19, 1967 in Lipowa, Poland.  I was raised in a loving home based in Catholicism.  I have two older brothers and two sister, one older and one younger.  All of them are married and they live in Poland.  My father and mother, who also live in Poland, are very happy and honored to have one of their sons a priest.  From a young age I took an interest in the priesthood an already during my elementary school and later uring al my high school, I was involved in parish life serving in it as a memeber of parish choir and parish Life Teen.  As a kid going to Mass, I always wanted to be a priest.  I saw concretely how the priests would help and attend to the needs of people.  That's something that was always very attractive to me.

I went to the Metropolitan Theological Seminary in Krakow, Poland from 1988-1994, studying for six years at The Pontifical University of John Paul II where I earned a master's degree in Philosophy and Theology in 1994.  After completeing my seminary, I served as Associate Pastor in three parishes in Poland.

When I came to Los Angeles, I was first assigned to St. Dorothy's Parish in Glendora where I served for five years.  My next assignment was in St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Altadena where I served for three years and my third assignment was at St. Lawrence Martyr in Redondo Beach.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you where I expect to meet my new family and my new home.

May God bess all of you,

Fr. Leszek

I am the St. Anastasia office assistant. I also participate in the before school care. It is with pleasure I bring my prior years of office experience and service to others to our school office. I am proud to say that all three of my children are St. Anastasia graduates. During their time at St. Anastasia, I gladly served our school by working with the PTO, volunteering with many committees, including office volunteer. I chaired the Scrip Program, one of our largest school fundraisers, served as Hot Lunch Coordinator for many of those years. I have helped St. Anastasia Church for many years through the baptism committee, Altar Servers coordinator and committee member, Las Posadas group member, and Eucharist Minister. I volunteered at Marymount High School as a Mothers' Club Board member for six years. I also worked for Marymount in the Admissions Office and Development Office. I have been a member of the Marymount Les Anges Board since my daughters graduated from Marymount. I served Loyola High School as Treasurer of the Mothers' Guild and Chairperson of the Loyola Parent Christmas Dinner Dance. I volunteered on Loyola's largest fundraiser, Interchange. I have also served our community as a Girl Scout Leader, Little League snack bar manager, and Cotillion coordinator for many years. Being a parent of St. A’s students I wanted to take every opportunity to make my children's childhood education the best experience it could be. I bring that knowledge and understanding to my job. I am here to serve you with a unique perspective that will help you want to participate in all that St. Anastasia School has to offer, and to give you the opportunity to make a difference in many families' lives. If you have any questions regarding St. Anastasia School, feel free to contact me. I would be happy to hear from you and it would be my pleasure to serve you.
