AM Summer School Program
Week 1-3: June 26-July 14, no school July 4thGRADES:
Kinder - 8th (2017-2018 school year)
Cost: $450 fees and tuition
Please register: by JUNE 12, additional info regarding dress code and any needed supplies will be emailed out by JUNE 1.
IVERBE will offer morning and after care during Summer School and VBS and an additional 4 week FULL DAY Summer Camp. Please see separate IVERBE link for discounted rates.
Kinder / 1st - Mrs. Tracy Mayhue
We will offer a program to include literacy, comprehension, numeracy skills, creating narratives, developing listening skills, and STEM. Students will also work to develop their fine and gross motor skills.
2nd / 3rd - Ms. Lisa Scaltrito
The Reading Curriculum for second/third grade summer school will involve recognizing parts of speech, proper punctuation, reading, and spelling, as well as more advanced language arts skills.The second/third grade summer math curriculum will include place value, mental math, calculating with monetary values, addition and subtraction, geometry and graphs, and frequent review of single digit addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
4th / 5th - Mrs. Jennifer Stamatio
The 4/5 summer school class will split the day between reading/language arts and math. The reading/language arts curriculum will consist of a novel study as well as persuasive writing practice. The math will focus on increasing the foundational understanding of fraction and decimal concepts.
Middle School - Mr. Elijah Ziomek
The Middle School summer school classs will focus on ELA reading & writing. Our Summer School Program will use Renaissance Learning Data from this year's STAR Math and Reading assessments to identify the strengths and weaknesses of our enrolled students. Students will also work on their summer reading assignments as well as their writing skills
Middle School - Ms. Angela Carter
Study Skills and Math Review with Ms. Carter: Learn the key executive functioning skills to survive and thrive in middle school. From organization, to test preparation, to test taking--it will all be covered. Time will also be spent reviewing the math skills that are essential for middle school math success (fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, geometry, basic algebra concepts).
