I am excited to welcome you to Kindergarten! Kindergarten is such a special year for both the students and parents.
I am a veteran teacher and hold a state of California Professional Clear teaching credential. I started my teaching career in 1991 teaching middle school. I later accepted a teaching position working in LAUSD as a primary teacher and mentor for new teachers. I never knew that I would love the primary grades as much as I do! While teaching for LAUSD, I became very involved in early literacy and early interventions. After the birth of my second child I took time off to raise my 3 children, but remained very involved with their school. All 3 of my children are part of the St. A's family - all 3 are St. A grads!. Before taking over the Kindergarten position I was PTO president and an active School Board member. In fact, I chaired the committee to create the current full-day Kindergarten program. We are long-time parishioners of St. Anastasia. My husband, Herb, and I are very involved with the parish and school, serving on various boards. I teach with love and high expectations. This is your child's first taste of school and I strive to make it a delicious one so that he/she will want to come back for seconds. I believe a strong Kinder program balances academics, spirituality, and social development/play. These kiddos are only 5 and 6 years old once and I want them to enjoy this special age!
I enjoy spending time with my family. We love to travel! We are also big soccer fans and attend all of the LA Galaxy home games.
