Dear Saint Anastasia Families,
Heavenly Father- Jesus, is your greatest gift to us. He is a sign of your deep love. Help us walk in that love during Advent and Christmas. We pray in the name of Jesus, our Savior. Amen
On behalf of Father Leszek and the staff of our school I want to wish each of you a very blessed Christmas. It is such a special time of year to be at a Catholic school where we can share our love of God with the children and prepare for Jesus’s coming. We are grateful for the opportunity to spend this time with your children and receive the blessings of their wonder and enthusiasm.
Sitting next to Fr. Leszek at our Christmas Program was an absolute thrill. He was so impressed by the quality of the show and the joyful participation of our students. He addressed the students the next day and continued to rave about it at our Faculty Christmas Luncheon. It was a beautiful show and a wonderful loving gift to our community. Thank you to Jenny Lenz and Traci Verbaarschott for their tremendous leadership and to the many other parents who gave so generously of themselves to make the show truly remarkable. We are eternally grateful to Teressa Syta and Perviz Sawoski who have volunteered for more than a decade working with students to bring out their very best. This year their youngest children graduate and we will have quite a void to fill.
The second trimester is well underway with new elective classes in the junior high, winter sports getting underway, and Catholic Schools Week rapidly approaching upon our return to school. I look forward to spending time with my family and recharging my batteries as we get ready for the many activities of the new year. We will be sending out a parent survey at the beginning of January which kicks off our year of preparation for school accreditation in the spring of 2018.
The school board, PTO board, and faculty gathered for a retreat and strategic planning session earlier this month. Many ideas were generated to help guide the long-range planning work of the school board, and the current work of the PTO. We discussed campus improvements, staff development ideas, coordinating service projects, and much more. I am very interested in other ideas that you have for ongoing school improvement. Send me a message or drop by to visit if you have any suggestions.
Our Facebook Page is new and improved and Mrs. Klein is providing regular updates with many adorable photos. You can find pictures of the many events that mark the calendar through the year. I am overwhelmed by your generosity through the ACTS of Kindness, Giving Boxes and Adopt-a-Family programs. I was very moved by the pictures and stories shared by the families that made the class deliveries and am confident that your participation brought joy and hope to some very special families.
Peace and Blessings,
Mike Muir, Principal
