25+ Years of Musical Magic at St. Anastasia!

For more than 25 years, St. Anastasia Catholic School has been alive with music, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Each year, our 5th–8th graders have the chance to shine in our beloved school musical—whether they’re stepping into the spotlight or discovering hidden talents behind the scenes.

Auditions help cast students in specific roles, but everyone who wants to be part of the show is welcomed into the experience. The season culminates in two dazzling performances each February, filling our community with pride and joy.

But our musical is about so much more than singing and dancing—it’s about transformation. Students gain confidence, courage, and lifelong skills. One alumna even wrote her high school entrance essay about her musical roles, sharing how the experience gave her the belief that she could do anything. Others who once whispered from the back row now beam with confidence by showtime.

Under the umbrella of the Performing Arts Program, students grow in vocal skills, dance, acting, teamwork, and public speaking—all while having an absolute blast.

Thanks to the generous support of the Msgr. Royale M. Vadakin Arts and Education Fund and the William H. Hannon Foundation, the show truly goes on—bigger and brighter every year!

At St. Anastasia, the musical isn’t just a performance. It’s an experience that shapes hearts, minds, and memories for a lifetime.

St. Anastasia began its musical program with Bye Bye Birdie featuring a cast of 102 students from Kindergarten to 8th Grade. This initial effort became the foundation of a performing arts program at St. Anastasia, which also includes an all school Christmas Program, twice weekly music class, a band, a K-4 Talent Show and a Performing Arts Showcase. With the help of parent volunteer producers, the musical is the entertainment highlight of the school year.

 

The musical is now comprised of 5th-8th grade students. They begin rehearsals in the fall 2-3 times a week, dedicating hundreds of hours in their quest to delight theater goers each spring.
