School Project 2024

 

In line with our strategic plan set out in 2022, we are focusing on updating the middle school (6th-8th grade) classrooms to create a more modern and flexible learning environment. 

 

The classroom updates are designed with a more fluid and flexible learning environment at the forefront. We aim to provide classrooms that foster collaboration and versatility, allowing students and teachers the ability to adapt to many different learning needs. We want to provide students with new desks and chairs, and mobile lecterns for middle school teachers. 

With new classroom furniture, students will be able to move around the classroom more easily and reposition desks and chairs for collaborative work as well as independent learning. The new desks will be inspired by what is in the current Science classroom with wheeled feet, and whiteboard tabletops which are great for group projects! New chairs will also allow students to have more options with flex-back seats, castor-wheel feet, or to use with a rocking motion, for example.

LOCKERS! With the goal of cleaning up the classrooms, we are excited to include lockers in our plans for the updated middle school. Students currently use different storage locations throughout their day (backpack hooks in the hallways and cubby storage in their homerooms). Lockers will provide a central storage location for students, allowing them to be better organized for their day, removing clutter in the classrooms, and preparing them for lockers in high school. This is truly something that will set the middle school apart from our elementary grades.  
This is a massive undertaking financially, as we anticipate this project to cost over $100,000. Please donate what you can to help improve the classrooms for our students! Every dollar raised for this project will be used for this critical update for our middle school! Our goal is to complete these updates this summer in time for the 2024-2025 school year.
