3rd VP - Ways and Means

Jackie Blackmore and Barbara Guidry

    • Coordinates all fundraising activities.
    • Selects project and committee chairs within the Department.
    • Responsible for keeping calendar of all fundraisers to avoid unnecessary overlap.
    • Acts as fundraising liaison between the school and the parish community.
    • Committees under the 3rd Vice-President include: Book Fair, Jog-A-Thon, Golf Tournament, Parish Ball, Panther Fund (Formerly the "Annual Appeal") Passive Fundraising and other fundraising events.
Note that all PTO fundraising efforts will support our school’s general PTO fund, supplementing programs such as art, music, science, athletics and so much more! Each year the administration and PTO also identifies a dedicated “school project” with a separate fundraising campaign. All funds raised for that project will be dedicated directly to that project.

Ways and Means Committees

Panther Fund (August) - Vickie Farmer

Each year school families are asked to support our Panther Fund, to bridge the gap in the cost of education that tuition does not cover. These funds are used directly to help offset our school’s operating expenses, and also helps keep our tuition levels affordable.
Unlike tuition, this donation is 100% tax deductible and can be made in full or multiple payments throughout the school year. Fundraisers, grants and appeals are an essential part of the development and growth of St. Anastasia Catholic School. Corporate/Company matching programs are also great ways to make donations even more impactful!

School Support Sunday (September) - Chairperson - Rosalyn Vazquez

School Support Sunday is held on Catechetical Sunday in September. Working with the school administration and parish office, this chair will also work with school to identify students to read essay’s during Sunday mass, and create communication for priest to read during the announcements.

Jog-A-Thon (October) - Chairperson - Brigid Brookman

Students raise funds and are challenged to complete as many laps as they can in friendly competition among their classmates. Prizes are awarded for top-fundraising individuals and classes, as well as top runners for each class. Families and guests are encouraged to come to school to support our students as they jog for St. As! Every dollar raised goes directly to the school.

Book Fair (October) - Chairperson- Emma Delf and Nicole Johnson

Each fall the PTO runs a book fair in the parish hall. All money spent earns the school points towards new books for the library and classrooms. Teachers provide wish lists that parents can purchase from for the classroom. Older classes will have a posted book list of required reading for the year. These books are stocked at the book fair for the parent's convenience.

Parish Ball (March) - Chairpersons - Vickie Farmer

A tradition of St. Anastasia school and parish, this is our school’s biggest and most successful fundraiser of the year. This is THE event of the year to celebrate our parish community including a Silent Auction, Live Auction, Raffle, Dinner and Dancing. It is truly a magical night! Every school family is required to dedicate a least 3 of their 30 volunteer hours toward this event. We need many volunteers to make all of these events possible and raise money for our school and our children.
Funds raised from the Parish Ball will help offset operating costs, as well as an appeal for a specific project (TBD)

Golf Tournament (Spring) - Chairperson - Nicole Stonerock and Beata Murphy

This event is a great fundraiser and social event for the school. The tournament and dinner is typically held in the spring. Funds raised from the Golf Tournament will directly fund the St. Anastasia School Endowment, which is used for capital improvements of the school facilities.

Grant Writer (Year round) - Chairperson - OPEN

Work directly with the Director of Mission Advancement, this chairperson will help research and submit for grants. We have been fortunate to receive monetary grants and donations that help support our school with tuition assistance, tuition scholarships, technology, staff development, and the performing arts. Our major grants come from the William H. Hannon Foundation, Playa Vista, and the Monsignor Vadakin Arts and Education Fund. To make a donation, or find out more, contact Vickie Farmer, Director of Mission Advancement.

All other fundraising proposals must be presented to the 3rd VP and approved by the PTO Board
